Such a sweet Mommy/Son Duo. I always love photographing these two. I feel like I have to do very little directing – their love just oozes out and makes gorgeous photos. I just get to capture it!
Pete is one! This family was one of my very first clients. It has been our tradition for each child to hold the one year session at Woodward Park in Tulsa and follow with a smash cake session in the home – smack dab in the middle of the entry way (for the best light of course 😉 )
It’s been so fun capturing each baby. 4 years ago Harper cried. She hated the idea of even touching her cake. 2 years ago, Max wasn’t so sure, he eventually dug in with the help of his big sister, but not without getting his orange icing all over the carpet (oops). Pete was the Smash Cake champ. He knew just what to do – make a big mess AND smile for the camera. And to top of tradition – big brother and sister jumped in at the end to help eat!
Oh My gooooooosh, you guys. I can’t even begin to describe the cuteness of this session. You’ll just have to look for yourself:
My family adores this family. We met them through our church, but I think the first time Kristi and really got the chance to sit and talk was at Carter Mae’s newborn session. Since then she’s become an incredible friend, coach (see her amazing blog here) and mentor to me. Our kids are the same age. Our oldest, Gabe and Holden could play basketball together from sunrise to sunset and never get bored. While our youngest, well, you’ll see later. Let’s just say Noah chases Carter Mae in hopes of a single hug while she runs away screaming “NO!” True Love. 😉
They are moving to St. Louis at the end of this week and I may or may not show up at her house, throw my arms around her ankles and refuse to let go. Thank you for being such a blessing to us! Love you guys!
At the end of the session, I had my family meet me because I wanted to snap a few shots of my own boys. This shot was completely unplanned, “Here Noah, go give Sissy this flower” For the next 5 minutes he persistently tried to get her to take the rose. She refused.
and if you know anything about either of our youngest, you know how incredibly stubborn they are. (sorry Sunday School Teachers) I love this stare down. The battle of wills…
Love love love this group! I’ve been photographing them since Kamden (now 3!) was just a week old. He’s my buddy now – I think he picked at least 30 dandelions for me. I know for sure, he cleared the field of them 😉 I’m still finding them in in my camera bag. Little brother Kruse wasn’t as sure of me just yet. The balloons and cake, on the other hand, THAT he loved. This session was to celebrate Kruse’s first birthday – I think it was a success. The snapshot of his daddy kissing his cheek, may be one of my all time favorite pics to date – just so much JOY!
