I first met this family just under a year ago. Katie was a teeny tiny newborn and big brother Jack was just as handsome and charming as he is today. I adore his imagination. At the last session he busied himself with constructing an airplane out of cardboard – this year he discovered trolls under a bridge and the exact location that witches stir their brew. 🙂 And now Katie? She’s walking her 10 month self (along with her cute squishy thighs) straight into toddlerhood.
I love all my babies – especially when they sleep for me! Emmett was the perfect little client. He slept straight through all the posing and moving. Just as I was wrapping up his individual shots he let out one long stretch, his little eyes opened and he was ready to eat. He stayed awake for the rest of the family pictures so we got a good mixture of sleepy cuddly Emmett as well as their new bright eyed handsome little man.
After shooting Joanna’s Maternity session a few months ago, I finally had the pleasure of meeting little handsome baby Parker. And he was dreamy! (Well, not-so much the sleepy kind as he never truly fell asleep for me) but he is most definitely a beautiful baby!
One of my very favorite things about newborn sessions is getting big brother or big sister alone with their new baby. They are so proud! And even though they are usually super wiggly toddlers that can barely contain their joy – their joy is one of the purest emotions to capture! Reese is such a good big brother and more than happy to hold Parker for me.

Ella was my sleepiest newborn to date. She didn’t wake from the time I got there to the time I left! Every now and then while posing her she would open her eyes and look at me as if to say, “what in the world are you doing?” but within seconds she would fall right back into her deep sleep. What a fun session! It was fun to work while her mama and grandma were behind me giggle at her cuteness. But how could you not? Just look at this sweet face!
