Happy Girl {Oklahoma City Baby Photographer}

Yes, that would be an old Martina McBride song, but this chorus kept repeating through my mind as I was editing these photos…just look at this face – can you describe her as anything else but a “happy girl”?

The last time I saw Kirsten, she fell asleep on me. It’s good to know she found me more entertaining this time around! 😉

Athena: 18 months {Oklahoma City Children Photographer}

Oh how I love my “Athena Sessions”. Athena is another baby that I’ve been lucky enough to watch grow from the time she was just 3 months. Kevin, my husband, who is usually sitting somewhere near when I do my editing refers to her as “the really pretty baby”.

“Oh, you have Athena’s session coming up? She’s the really pretty baby, right?” He’s right. She’s lovely. And she just gets prettier.

I was meant to be a baby and children photographer. I’ll occasionally shoot an engagement or senior session, sometimes even throw a wedding into the mix, but the babies are my heart. Sadly, however, I am not always theirs. Usually I only show the pretty side of children photography. Someday soon I’ll show you a whole roll of bloopers….like this one:

As it turns out, toddlers have their opinions too. (who knew? :)) Sometimes they cry, sometimes they run, or sometimes they’ll flat out tell me “No.” But eventually they warm up (or just realize the lady with the camera won’t stop following them around until they give in).

With the 100+ temperatures, this “Heat Dome” over the Midwest has left us counting down the days to Fall! I personally can’t wait since Fall will also bring a new bundle of joy to the DeShazo Family – Gabe’s little brother, Noah Grayson, will be here September 20th!

However with that exciting news comes a VERY limited fall season for me due to maternity leave. I can’t tell you how sad this makes me since Fall is everyone’s favorite season for family sessions (including mine!)

For that reason, I’ll be offering 2 mini session dates! Currently both sessions are scheduled for Oklahoma City. The first group of sessions will be held on Saturday, September 3rd. The second group of sessions will be held on Saturday, November 5th.

Locations have yet to be determined.

Session times available for each date are:
8:15am
9:00am
9:45am
10:30am

A session lasting 30 minutes for up to 4 members of the family ($25 for each additional person)

Lily Kate {Oklahoma City Newborn Photographer}

This family, I’m particularly fond of.

Mike and Nikki have been good friends of ours for years. They knew Kevin and I before we were married. Their son Jude is just a year older than our Gabe so its been fun to see their little friendship bloom. And it will be neat to see what their little Lily and our Noah (just 10 weeks apart) will add. We’ve laughed together, worked together, prayed together and live life together. What a blessing to have found life-long friendship in this family!
